Position Overview:

We are currently offering an immediate full-time, permanent Site Superintendent position to lead and supervise the construction process and activities on commercial and industrial construction projects.

The Site Superintendent will be responsible for coordinating all on-site activities, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and maintaining effective communication among project team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. On-Site Management: Manage all aspects of on-site construction activities, including scheduling, forecasting workforce requirements, subcontractor coordination, and material procurement, to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  2. Team Leadership: Provide leadership, chair site meetings, and build relationships with the project team. Provide direction to on-site personnel, including subcontractors, to ensure productivity and accountability throughout the project duration while fostering a positive work environment.
  3. Quality Control: Implement and enforce quality control procedures to ensure that workmanship meets project specifications and our high-quality standards.
  4. Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment for all personnel on site.
  5. Subcontractor Coordination: Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to schedule work activities, resolve conflicts, and ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
  6. Communication Excellence: Maintain regular and clear communication with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to provide project updates, address concerns, and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  7. Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including field reports, progress photos, shop drawings, schedules, and as-built drawings, to track project milestones and facilitate project closeout.
  8. Problem Solving: Identify and resolve construction issues, conflicts, and unforeseen challenges that may arise during the construction process.
  9. Continuous Improvement: Proactively seek opportunities for process improvements and innovation to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.
  10. Drawings & Submittals: Review shop drawings and submittals for conformance with the site conditions and contract documents.
  11. Contract Administration: Assist with purchase orders, subcontracts, safety documentation, and other miscellaneous administrative tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

  1. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in commercial construction, with a proven track record of successfully managing construction projects in the field from start to finish.
  2. Extensive knowledge of construction methods, materials, and techniques, with a strong emphasis on safety and quality.
  3. Experience and knowledge of foundations, wood framing, steel framing and pre-cast concrete building systems is an asset.
  4. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a diverse team of construction professionals.
  5. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the capacity to anticipate and address potential issues before they escalate.
  6. Proficiency in construction management software and tools, such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and Adobe is preferred.
  7. Experience with the Last Planner System is an asset.
  8. Education in construction management, engineering, or a related field is an asset, but not required.
