Job Title: Electrical Engineer

MatrixHR is currently seeking an Electrical Engineer for one of our clients in Kitimat, BC. This position reports to the Maintenance Superintendent and follows a 3-week on, 1-week off rotational shift. Fly-in-fly-out arrangements and accommodations may be provided if necessary.

Pay Rate: $45.50 - $52.50/hr

Job Duties:
  1. Review and design operational tasks for job hazard analysis, perform risk assessments, and provide technical support for safe work procedures.
  2. Conduct root cause analysis and defect eliminations to enhance equipment reliability.
  3. Manage reliability improvement projects onsite.
  4. Apply asset management best practices and drive improvement initiatives.
  5. Maintain and enhance preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  6. Offer technical assistance to the maintenance team for electrical equipment issues.
  7. Support trades in troubleshooting problems in a heavy industrial setting.
  8. Represent the area for engineering projects.
  9. Provide technical support for equipment including low-voltage power distribution, PLCs, and VFDs.
  10. Implement PLC hardware upgrades.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Eligibility to register with EGBC
  • Strong safety mindset and adherence to safe work procedures
  • Minimum of 5 years of maintenance and asset management experience in processing plants, pulp and paper, or similar industries
  • Leadership and good communication skills
