MatrixHR is currently seeking an Electrical Engineer for an exciting opportunity in Kitimat, BC

Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, the successful candidate will work a 3-week on and 1-week off rotational shift throughout 2024. Fly-in-fly-out arrangements and accommodations may be covered if required. Camp provided. Pay Rate: $45.50 - $52.50/hr

The Electrical Engineer will report to the Asset Management Superintendent and will be responsible for:

  1. Reviewing and designing operational tasks for job hazard analysis
  2. Performing risk assessments and acting as a technical resource for safe work procedures
  3. Performing root cause analysis and defect eliminations to improve equipment reliability
  4. Managing reliability improvement projects onsite
  5. Applying asset management best practices and driving improvement initiatives
  6. Maintaining and improving preventive and predictive maintenance program(s)
  7. Providing technical assistance to the maintenance team regarding electrical equipment problems
  8. Supporting trades in troubleshooting issues in a heavy industrial atmosphere
  9. Representing the area for projects performed by the engineering group
  10. Providing technical support for equipment including low-voltage power distribution, PLCs, and VFDs
  11. Implementing PLC hardware upgrades to remove older generation equipment from use

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Eligibility to register with EGBC
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance and asset management
  • Leadership and good communication skills
