Project Support and Portfolio Analyst

Opportunity to work in a Global company on global projects. Opportunity to work in a stimulating team with key experts in Project Management. Role is based in Sudbury, ON.

We are looking for a Project Support and Portfolio Analyst Advisor to provide project management and control services with a defined governance structure that enables controls, processes, and systems associated with Knowledge Management specifically in the areas of Document Management and Control, Content Management, schedule analysis (Forensic), and Cost-sensitive analysis for a portfolio of major capital projects.

Reporting to the Project Controls Manager, you will be:

  1. Performing a holistic evaluation of how likely projects are to succeed through data-driven forecasting.
  2. Identifying risks, quantifying their impact, and separating high-risk tasks from low ones.
  3. Looking at the big picture to see what, out of all project elements involved, could potentially prevent achieving project goals.
  4. Ensuring that the document management system contains the latest version of documents (e.g., P&ID, PFD, Drawings, Reports).
  5. Liaising with internal and external contractors' document controllers and other stakeholders to ensure that the integrity of information has consistent principles applied with the classification, identification, dissemination, and disposition of information.
  6. Ensuring compliance with CLIENT approved procedures and regulatory requirements (global and/or regional).
  7. Preparing reports on key metrics to internal stakeholders regarding service delivery.
  8. Participating in knowledge management collaborative forums within the business and across CLIENT to promote and enhance the adoption of best practices in Knowledge Management specifically in the areas of defining new processes, systems use landscape, onboarding, and document management.
  9. Providing ongoing guidance, support, and training in Knowledge Management best practices in accordance with specific standards of practice, specifically in the areas of Document Management and Control, Content Management, Knowledge Share, and Collaboration.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Experience in project controls in the mining industry.
  • English proficiency is a must.

It will also be beneficial if you have:

  • Experience in a Project Management role.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Intermediate experience with Primavera P6.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Math, Engineering, or a Business-related discipline, or other combinations of education and experience will be considered.
