Overview

Hey there Vessi fam We’re looking to hire a Store Manager at our Square One location to play a key role as we take the next step towards becoming the world’s top wet weather athleisure company.As we grow into this new market, we’re looking for a retail leader and subject-matter expert who can own this store - someone who can deliver a best in class customer experience, build and manage a team of all star Sales Associates, maximize business goals and sales performance and successfully run the operations.This is an exciting opportunity to help shape Vessi retail as you’ll be given the autonomy to advise, create and execute on retail best practices. This role is critical to help support opening this location and embodying the Vessi team spirit. We’re looking for someone who is business-minded, entrepreneurial, and not afraid to roll up their sleeves to lead on the sales floor when needed.If you are a seasoned retail leader who is eager to take on their next career challenge and play an integral part in Vessi’s growth, we want to hear from you

What You’ll Do:

 Store Operations

  • Liaise with our general contractor and vendors leading up to opening our Square One location
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners (distribution, merchandising, IT, business operations and brand) on store operations and plans for new product drops and marketing activities
  • Oversee and manage all store operations such as: opening and closing procedures, staff scheduling, cash wrap, inventory management, loss prevention, IT systems (POS), health & safety and budgeting to ensure operational excellence 
  • Participate in weekly operational meetings and discussions with HQ team as required
  • Support community & event activations onsite as required
  • Connect with mall management on operational issues or opportunities
  • Establish relationships with other retailers/peers in the mall
  • Support with future store openings as required

People Management 

  • Screen, interview and hire new team members
  • Collaborate with People & Culture to recruit and onboard a team of Sales Associates who align with Vessi’s vision, mission and core values 
  • Oversee and manage store labour plans including weekly schedules and time off requests
  • Deliver retail training to associates and ensure that all retail staff have proper understanding of product, SOPs and best practices 
  • Drive employee engagement, create a strong store culture and ensure the team is recognized and motivated 
  • Advise, guide and coach team on employee issues and escalate to People & Culture as necessary 
  • Conduct performance reviews and manage development plans for Sales Associates

Performance 

  • Drive sales and high performance; ensure the team consistently meets and exceeds business goals and sales targets 
  • Set, monitor and manage store financial targets and KPIs such as: sales per hour (SPH), average order value (AOV), conversion rate, net promoter score (NPS) and other inventory metrics 
  • Ensure the team embraces a customer-focused mindset and consistently provides a seamless and memorable customer experience 
  • Create weekly sales performance updates for HQ team

What We’re Looking For:

  • 5+ years of experience in retail management in the footwear/apparel industry 
  • Subject matter expertise in retail store operations 
  • Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams 
  • Strong business acumen
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Customer-focused mindset

  • Shopify experience
  • Store opening experience
  • Deep knowledge of GTA customer base
