Job description:

The HSEH Manager is responsible for the health, safety, environment, and hygiene objectives of our 2 plants on the North Shore of Montreal. His/her objective is to set up and implement our HSE excellence program. To this end, his task is as follows:

  1. Ensure regulatory compliance and HSEH Standards for both plants
  2. Develop and implement HSE policies and procedures
  3. Ensure the development of a health and safety culture by evaluating and optimizing current processes and procedures
  4. Keep abreast of changes and implement adjustments to existing programs and procedures
  5. Lead, develop, and deliver employee training programs
  6. Develop an HSEH culture with employees at both plants
  7. Responsible for HSEH audits and inspections
  8. Coordinate visits with internal and external collaborators
  9. Submit annual reports (waste, water use, etc.)
  10. Collaborate in the development of Corpo projects and ensure implementation for both plants
  11. Manage the handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials and ensure adherence to safety and environmental protection rules
  12. Identify and address improvement opportunities by implementing strategic plans with various managers
  13. Analyze accident history with recommendations
  14. Identify workplace hazards and implement a control and correction strategy

Skills and qualifications:

University degree preferably one of the following three certifications:

  1. CHMM C certification
  2. Certified Safety Professional
  3. Industrial hygiene certification

3 to 6 years OHS experience

Ability to maintain and manage confidential information

Strong time management and organizational skills

Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously

Ability to manage priorities

Ability to communicate in presentations

Fluent in French and English
