Job Summary:

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Water/Wastewater Process Engineer for immediate employment based in the Kitchener, ON office. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  1. Design and manage a variety of multi-disciplinary water and wastewater projects including master plans, municipal class environmental assessments, studies, conceptual design, preliminary design, detailed design, design reports, tendering, approvals, contract administration, site inspection and warranty services.
  2. Direct and take responsibility of the production of engineered drawings including review, approval and application of P.Eng. seal in accordance with PEO requirements.
  3. Perform and review engineering design calculations in support of design packages.
  4. Prepare detailed contract specifications including equipment selection and liaison with equipment suppliers and vendors.
  5. Review, approve and P.Eng. seal specifications in accordance with PEO requirements.
  6. Consistently deliver on each project to achieve top-tier industry benchmarks for quality and overall project delivery.
  7. Provide clear and focused leadership on all project functions related to project design, project control, and construction management to meet overall project goals.
  8. Participate in business development activities including leading and development of all aspects of proposal submissions.
  9. Effectively maintain and develop healthy client relationship throughout the project execution and project close-out.
  10. Create a team environment that supports AECOM’s Client focus, where employees meet the expectations, requirements, and agreements of our Clients.
  11. Define the project quality requirements.
  12. Ensure compliance with AECOM and Client quality policies and procedures.
  13. Ensure strict compliance with AECOM and Client safety policies and procedures.
  14. Provide mentoring and technical support of junior staff.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Environmental, Process Mechanical or Civil Engineering
  • 6+ years of Design / Construction experience in Water/Wastewater infrastructure
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.)
  • In-depth process engineering knowledge and application to water and wastewater treatment facilities
  • Proficient in common desktop packages, i.e. Word, Excel, MS Project

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of Design / Construction experience in Water/Wastewater infrastructure
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Motivated, team player, independent, organized with strong business acumen
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
