Financial Analyst, Financial Planning & Analysis

Group Finance is recruiting an experienced and highly motivated Intermediate Financial Analyst for our Group FP&A team. The successful candidate will gain great insight into Manulife's business, across geographies, business divisions, and functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide thorough and timely analysis and insights of key performance indicators, including trends, headwinds, tailwinds, opportunities, and risks
  • Co-ordinate the production of monthly and quarterly performance management reports for the Executive Leadership Team and quarterly reports for the Board of Directors which include financial and non-financial information, and progress on strategic initiatives
  • Assist with the creation and production of scorecards for the Executive leadership team, and scorecards for the Company's bonus program
  • Support Finance projects to achieve transformation goals. This includes execution on KPI reporting project, continuous improvement of systems and processes to ensure accountability and execution partnering with other teams (Technology, Finance, Strategy, etc.)
Minimum Requirements:
  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant field
  • Attained or actively pursuing a CPA/CFA an asset
  • Well-organized, high level of initiative and able to manage and prioritize several tasks with a high level of accuracy
  • Drive to understand the bigger picture
  • Excellent collaboration skills; this will facilitate an effective and efficient working relationship with our partners in the businesses and functions
  • Excellent analytical skills with a focus on providing value-added insight and analysis
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, including the ability to take complex information and 'package' it for management
  • Strong attention to detail as our partners include the Executive Leadership Team and Board
  • Excellent PC skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Essbase, Word)
  • Experience with BI tools, Sharepoint, and performance management tools/systems is an asset
