We are looking for an experienced 3D Design Supervisor/Art Director to join our North American team. This role will oversee the production of modeling, production and rendering for short-form, character-driven, animated content.

Candidates will ideally be located in Ottawa, Ontario and open to working hybrid or in-office at our downtown location. Consideration will be given to other candidates working remotely who are located within the EST time zone.

The right candidate will have excellent experience as a Supervisor for 3D character and location design and have extensive professional experience overseeing and participating in the full 3D -production pipeline.

The candidate would preferably have experience creating content for projection and large format OOH/Exhibition and screen technologies.

The candidate will have excellent communication, organization, and management skills and be an inspiring team leader. They will be a creative problem solver and solutions-oriented.

The right person will be accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment and handling multiple parts of a project and priorities at once.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and guide the design team in line with the creative director, established style guides, and the production team.

  • Ensure that the content works well across the large-scale projection mapped canvases, in collaboration with the technical team.

  • Contribute to modeling and texturing tasks as needed.

  • Completing the final lighting, rendering and polish of scenes and assets.

  • Ensure the creative team maintains quality and established style throughout all phases of production.

  • Participate in presentations and project management calls with the Senior Producer and Project Director to present work in progress and submittal updates throughout the production.

  • Disseminate client and stakeholder feedback to the design team in a succinct manner.

  • Assist with material needed for pitches and client meetings on other projects as required.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in industry-standard 3D animation software (e.g., Blender, Maya).

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a team and alongside the 3D Animation Supervisor.

  • Experience leading small creative teams in a fast paced environment.

  • Experience working on animation, motion graphics, or VFX projects.

  • Experience working on animated films, TV shows, game projects preferred.

Preferred Experience:

  • Preferably, have experience within the immersive creative industries and/or creating content for experiential activations.

  • Experience in creating engaging interactive media and content.

  • Proven ability to work cross-departmentally with interactive and technical teams across time zones.

  • Strong skills in leading and managing remote teams.

Key Qualities:
