Job Summary:

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Process Engineer will be responsible for:

  1. Developing and writing all SOPs
  2. Maintaining and tracking all quality and process concerns on Fast Response Board
  3. Working with Quality Manager to standardize quality inspections
  4. Working with Maintenance Manager to reduce power and water usage
  5. Investigating continuous improvement opportunities across all processes
  6. Working with Managers in all departments to bring about process improvements resulting in cost savings
Job Responsibilities:

The Process Engineer will be responsible for the following:

  • Developing new and existing products to meet the Product Development plans of the Division
  • Leading product development teams through the stage gate process to ensure success
  • Leading cost reduction initiatives through materials, product, and process improvements
  • Planning and performing manufacturing trials to evaluate new product design, materials, and formulations
  • Coordinating product sampling, testing, and certification requirements
  • Maintaining knowledge of latest materials & technology improvements and initiating programs for evaluation
  • Coordinating programs with Engineering and Manufacturing
  • Developing & maintaining process guidelines (SOP/SOC) and training programs for the integration of new products and systems
  • Identifying opportunities and providing technical support to manufacturing for the improvement of product quality, process efficiencies, and manufacturing costs
  • Performing other duties as required
Job Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must meet the following qualifications:

  • Post-Secondary degree (Polymer Science or Chemical Engineering)
  • Experience: 5-10 years of manufacturing work experience
  • Strong Product Development & Process Engineering skills and expertise
  • A results-oriented problem solver with an analytical approach
  • Excellent verbal & written communication
  • A hands-on individual with good people skills
  • Six Sigma Green/Black Belt and knowledge of DOE are assets
