A Development Manager at Astria Properties will lead multiple projects simultaneously, from initial site identification to construction, while maintaining project schedules. The role requires technical construction knowledge, preferably specific to industrial development. The Development Manager will need to be highly organized, have excellent communication and time management skills, and possess strong initiative. As a small, tight-knit team, the Development Manager will be exposed to all aspects of the business and support how the various functions work together.

Day-to-day tasks will require the Development Manager to:

  • Evaluate new acquisition opportunities and manage the due diligence processes of new prospects.
  • Manage the preconstruction process of projects including, but not limited to:
    • Apply for permits.
    • Manage and provide direction to consultants.
    • Review plans, specifications, and reports.
    • Liaise with municipalities and government agencies.
    • Develop and maintain project schedules.
    • Manage consultant contracts and preconstruction costs.
    • Administrative work associated with the project.
  • Facilitate drawing reviews and value engineering exercises.
  • Prepare regular project updates and reporting.
  • Assist in preparing lease, sales, and marketing materials.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, investors, brokers, consultants, municipalities, and government agencies.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with the other arms of Astria Properties, including acquisitions, design, estimating, marketing and sales, and construction.
