What You’ll Do:
  1. Assist in the preparation of engineering designs and work orders for capital works, system extensions, maintenance, operations, or replacement
  2. Assist with development and review for drawings and specifications for construction to meet regulatory requirements of Ontario Regulation 22/04
  3. Ensure work is in compliance with regulatory requirements and legislation such as the Ontario Energy Board, IESO, and Regulations 22/04
  4. Assist with the preparation of contracts for tender as well as supporting contractor management duties
  5. Provide technical support pertaining to electric distribution systems including: the establishment and maintenance of distribution standards, SCADA, protection and control, substations, system coordination, and line design
  6. Assist in the planning and design for long term sustainability and reliability of the electric distribution system
  7. Research company records to verify infrastructure details
  8. Assist with assembling and analyzing budgets and project costs
  9. Assist with verifying bills of materials and monitoring the availability of materials and recommending appropriate new materials and equipment as required
  10. Contribute to innovative solutions towards technological advancements for our customers
  11. Provide quality services to our customers in a safe and efficient manner
  12. Contribute to leveraging technology to digitize processes
  13. Review of municipal streetlighting systems and processes
  14. Review and recommend smart city opportunities
Who You Are:

You are enrolled in a Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO) accredited Bachelor of Science, Electrical Engineering program. You have a sound working knowledge of engineering principles related to electrical distribution and associate communications and controls systems. Familiarity with applicable legislation related to the supply and delivery of electricity is an asset. You have a demonstrated ability to work with software such as Microsoft Office, CAD, GIS, and databases. You can pivot and alter approach to accomplish desired results. You are not afraid to raise your hand when you need help or guidance.
