Contract until March 29, 2025 with possibility of extension
OVERVIEW:
Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, the Rapid Response – Trainer provides progressive leadership and expertise to Kina Gbezhgomi Child and Family Services (KGCFS) in all aspects of training, including program development and delivery, program support, agency-based curriculum development, community support, research, and reporting.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
• University degree or college diploma (two year minimum) in a field related to Human Resources, Education or Social Work. However, other combinations of skills, education and experience that are relevant may be considered.
Experience
• Experience is essential in delivery of training with youth, adults and community members and training methodologies required through individual and group facilitation.
• Experience in development of and adaptation within training curriculum and proposal development is required.
• Have a class ‘G’ Ontario Driver’s License, access to a personal vehicle and be able to travel.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES:
• Ability to speak Anishinabemowin is preferred and is a definite asset.
• Strong ability to motivate and empower participants through presentation sessions.
• Superior presentation and public speaking skills
• Broad knowledge of the Child, Youth and Family Services Act (CYFSA)
• Understanding and awareness of Aboriginal Child Welfare sector is preferred.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Given the traditional practices of the Anishinabek, from time-to-time exposure to wood smoke and the burning of sacred medicines, including tobacco, sweet grass, sage, or cedar, may occur within the work setting.
