Our client is a renowned developer in Vancouver, known for delivering high-quality residential and commercial projects. Position Overview:

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Estimator to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in multi-family residential projects, including both concrete and wood-frame construction. This role demands a thorough understanding of the local Vancouver market, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to provide accurate and comprehensive cost estimates.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for multi-family residential projects, including concrete and wood-frame constructions.
  2. Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to understand project scope and requirements.
  3. Collaborate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to gather essential project information.
  4. Conduct quantity take-offs and develop comprehensive estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and other project costs.
  5. Evaluate and negotiate subcontractor and supplier bids and proposals.
  6. Develop and maintain cost databases, unit prices, and historical cost data.
  7. Prepare and present cost estimate reports to senior management and project stakeholders.
  8. Monitor project budgets and provide cost-control support throughout the project lifecycle.
  9. Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and provide value engineering solutions.
  10. Stay updated with industry trends, market conditions, and best practices in construction estimating.
  11. Mentor and guide junior estimators and support staff.
Technical Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in construction estimating, with a focus on multi-family residential projects.
  • Extensive experience with concrete and wood-frame construction methods.
  • Proven track record of successful project estimation in the local Vancouver market.
  • Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., ProEst, PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and project documents.
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional certification such as Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or equivalent.
  • Experience with sustainable building practices and LEED certification processes.
