Here’s What You’ll Get To Do

  • Provide detailed estimates to our customers in a timely manner. Regularly work from architectural drawings and specifications, shop drawings, or elevation take-offs.
  • Independent analysis and interpretation of architectural plans as it relates to specifications and design requirements.
  • Conduct this analysis and interpretation to meet industry standards and provide solutions favorable to Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope products.
  • Follow up on estimates and provide feedback concerning market pricing levels.
  • Achieve acceptable sales and margin levels. Monitor actual vs. estimated costs and work with estimating supervisor to adjust standards accordingly.
  • Provide consultation, coordination, and assistance to our customers, sales force, and internal personnel.
  • Maintain detailed and organized records of bid documents, correspondence, and other project-specific information.

Here’s What We’re Looking For

  • Regular and predictable attendance, safely perform tasks and adherence to all safety policies and procedures are essential functions of this job.
  • Minimum of 3 years prior experience estimating glazing projects or similar products from architectural drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to read, interpret, & understand architectural drawings and specifications and provide detailed take-offs and estimates that incorporate different building envelope solutions.
  • Experience using electronic estimating tools, including estimating software, on-screen take-off tools, and Excel spreadsheets.
  • Knowledge of aluminum glazing systems & their applications.
  • Understanding of glass, composite metal panels, and other infill options as well as their applications.
  • Basic understanding of engineering to be able to use various in-house programs for structural review and the ability to identify and enlist help with problematic conditions.
  • Organized, self-starter with the ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize workload, and work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively & conduct themselves professionally, with excellent written & verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of fabrication and installation in order to have a good understanding of customer needs.
