The Ideal Candidate:

An organized, driven, professional Construction Project Manager with leadership skills looking for an exciting opportunity to grow your skills and experience. You may even have your Gold Seal, COR experience, and/or related degree are considered assets. Others would describe you as hyper detail-oriented, dependable, driven, and a strong team player. You take initiative and would be excited to assume responsibility with the project team for all aspects of construction project management including client relations, planning, budget management, scheduling, risk management, quality control, consultant-supplier-subtrade coordination, purchasing, shop drawings, and contract administration in a fast-paced environment. Lastly, you enjoy building projects and developing people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee pre-construction and start-up of a project, including coordination with government bodies, architects, engineers, and owners.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Assist in preparing responses to RFP’s.
  • Assist with estimating and tendering.
  • Lead, monitor, and manage execution of construction with the project team (including consultants, suppliers, and sub-trades).
  • Prepare/review cost reports and project schedules looking for potential risks and developing mitigation plans.
  • Review, mark up and process shop drawings.
  • Maintain logs and project records.
  • Act as the main point of contact with the owner and develop a strong client relationship.
  • Liaison between the company, trades, clients, and/or consultants.
  • Chair trade site meetings and take meeting minutes.
  • Assist in ensuring work is being done in a safe manner.
  • Creatively resolve site issues.
  • Pricing and coordination of Change Orders, Site Instructions, and Requests for Information.
  • Manage project closeout completing deficiencies, final walk-through, closeout documents, and warranty work.
  • Identify growth and training opportunities for themselves and other team members.
  • Continually help improve company systems and efficiencies.
  • Other Duties as assigned.

Additional requirements:

  • 5+ years of construction experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean record.
  • Ability to communicate via phone and email.
  • Competence with Microsoft Office, email, MS Project, and able to learn new software (i.e. SiteMax).
  • Familiarity with construction accounting.
  • Intermediate CAD or Revit ability is considered an asset.
  • Endurance and ability to visit job sites, including navigating ladders and stairs.
  • Can bend, squat, reach, and physically lift 50 lbs.
