Job Description:

On behalf of our public sector client, Affinity is looking for a Cyber Security Administrator II to design systems hardware and software solutions, define systems scope, and provide recommendations for all systems-supported infrastructure as part of regular operations.

Responsibilities:

  1. Design solutions to resolve system-related business problems, meet user requirements, and streamline system workflows.
  2. Formulates and defines system scope and objectives and recommends a strategy, potential solution, or "workaround".
  3. Monitors and analyzes systems issues and provides recommendations for all systems-supported infrastructure as part of regular operations.
  4. Provides guidance and training to less experienced analysts.
  5. Writes and maintains systems documentation including user and technical manuals.
  6. Designs, provisions, and configures systems.
  7. Acts as a liaison between technical groups and stakeholders to coordinate the system's installation and ensure technical compatibility and satisfaction.
  8. Prepares documentation and defines system-specific dependencies to assist in problem analysis.
  9. Provides recommendations for improving procedures and coordinating system implementation.
  10. Integrates development of best practices, standards, procedures, and quality objectives across systems infrastructure or platforms.
  11. Maintains appropriate professional designations and up-to-date knowledge of current information technology techniques and tools.
  12. Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

  1. 3 years of working knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
  2. 2 years of Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana (ELK) service management in an operational environment (Including Index life cycle management, snapshots/restore) experience.
  3. 2 years of Configure ELK pipelines (using grok patterns and scripts) experience.
  4. 2 years of Scripting (Unix shell or PowerShell) experience.
  5. 2 years of Service Management (including Incident Management) experience.
  6. 2 years of working knowledge of version control tools such as Git for code management, deployment, and issue management.
  7. 5 years of experience in communicating and facilitating technical and non-technical discussions during client and stakeholder meetings.
  8. Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline (or the equivalent combination of education and experience) (4 years).
  9. 2 years of Cybersecurity experience.
  10. 10 years of Professional Information Technology (IT) experience.

Desired qualifications:

  1. CISSP or other cybersecurity certification.
  2. ITIL certification.
  3. Identity and Access Management (such as SAML, OIDC, PAM, MFA, Active Directory, LDAP, etc).
  4. System Automation using Ansible/Terraform.
  5. Message brokers such as Redis and Kafka.
  6. Data Analytics and/or Power BI.
  7. Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure).
  8. Network technologies (such as Firewalls, and load balancers).
  9. System administration of managing operational environment with medium to large Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) infrastructure.
  10. Programming (Ruby or Java or Python or C# or Node.JS).
