Job Description

As a member of our Land Quality and Remediation team, you'll enjoy a flexible and dynamic work environment, where your personal success will depend on your collaborative working style, your client-centric mindset, and your superb project management and technical skills.

Role

You will work closely with a group of amazing young professionals in the contaminated sites assessment and remediation industry to design, implement, and deliver a wide range of projects for a diverse client base across the Yukon in the Power, Energy, Infrastructure, Mining, Industrial, and Built Environment sectors. These projects will include a range of responsibilities from managing interdisciplinary projects to authoring technical summary reports, designing work programs, preparing competitive proposals for new work, and mentoring staff.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  1. Management of contaminated sites projects such as site investigations, monitoring and sampling programs, and remediation programs, to ensure successful project delivery with respect to health & safety, scope, schedule, budget, QA/QC, and client satisfaction
  2. Coordination and supervision of field staff and subcontractors
  3. Engagement of experienced senior team members, including Project Directors, Contaminated Sites Approved Professionals, and technical specialists to develop work plans and execute projects
  4. Analysis and interpretation of environmental data and preparation of technical reports for senior review and submission to clients and regulators
  5. Liaison and relationship building with clients and other project stakeholders to ensure excellent service delivery
  6. Active participation in proposals and other business development opportunities to build SLR’s client base and revenue stream
  7. Provision of technical leadership through mentoring of staff during project delivery and for other aspects such as Health and Safety, training, team building and other, as required
  8. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to integrate findings and interpretations with various scientific, planning, and engineering disciplines
  9. Actioning difficult project challenges with curiosity and positivity

Qualifications/Education/Memberships:

5+ years of experience in the environmental consulting industry
Strong technical background in environmental site assessment and remediation, waste discharge permitting and compliance, and/or construction environmental management. Specialization in other environmental disciplines is helpful and can supplement your core experiences.
Working knowledge of environmental regulations and guidelines
Undergraduate or Master’s degree in environmental science, engineering, or geosciences preferred
Professional status or eligibility for professional status with a professional organization
Valid driver’s license and regular access to a reliable vehicle required for travel to job sites/clients
