We are seeking a Senior Purchasing Specialist . This is a unique opportunity for a skilled, experienced, and motivated purchasing professional to join Heliene’s team. Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, this position will coordinate and manage all development and purchasing activities associated with the assigned commodities. The position requires the individual to work closely with other departments such as sales, production, planning, engineering, and finance to ensure the best cost of ownership, supply security and access to innovative technologies creating a competitive advantage to Heliene. The selected candidate will manage large, complex, and strategic activities/projects/initiatives and will be actively engaged in product development and continuous improvement processes.

The position is remote, or you can work in office at any of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor industry trends, identify opportunities and treats (technology, commercial, compliance, financial, exchange rate, supply stability, policies, tariffs, etc.)
• Develop commodity strategies to ensure best cost of ownership, reduce cash flow requirements and supply security resilience considering opportunities and treats
• Develop a globally competitive domestic supply chain to ensure Heliene’s North American leadership
• Develop and sign long term agreements with selected suppliers in line with established commodity strategies
• Monitor and manage supplier performance, ensure supplier development and compliance with all Heliene policies and procedures
• Lead continuous improvement activities with purchasing responsibilities
• Manage material cost budget, variance, obsolescence, compliance issues and cost reduction processes
• Release and manage purchase orders aligned with contractual agreements, quality, and technical requirements
• Assisting the Accounts Payable department with invoice resolution and payment reconciliation
• Manage supply chain product development deliverables and project implementation schedules Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or Purchasing with three to five years’ experience in a purchasing role or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Project Management and lean manufacturing experience
• Solid understanding of cost structure, Canadian and US tariff system, quality control, product development, commodity management and contractual processes
• High proficiency working with ERP and analytical tools
• Advanced knowledge of forecasting and budgeting processes
• Ability to set prioritizations on a changing environment Job Posting

• Outstanding analytical, organization and communication skills including the ability to:
o Communicate effectively on technical details with clients, suppliers, engineers, and technicians;
o Negotiate effectively with suppliers
• Work well under pressure
• Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) or equivalent designation considered an asset
• Experience in solar, or another manufacturing / automated assembly products considered an asset
• Must have a valid passport and ability to travel in Canada, the US and internationally
