The purpose of the Terminal Leader is to support the Terminal in its day-to-day operation. Your goal will be to maintain a safe and organized environment for all staff to work in. This will include coordinating and managing contractors and ensuring all necessary repairs are made in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Specific Responsibilities include:

  • Support Bison Transport policies and procedures by engaging in the resolution of any safety concerns.
  • Liaison between Maintenance Coordinators, Dock Coordinators, Shop Manager & Dock Manager.
  • Maintain a high level of security of the terminal supporting Birds Eye.
  • Support with yard maintenance, including garbage cleanup, yard lighting, gate maintenance & troubleshooting, snow/ice removal, and winter preparation.
  • Support with office and building maintenance, including maintaining and periodic testing of all fire monitoring equipment, changing out ceiling tiles, maintaining lighting, and general repairs/installation of office equipment.
  • Schedule and lead the Shunt team.
  • Work with vendors to ensure operating safely in a cost-effective manner.
  • Participate and make necessary repairs from all inspections.
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned/required.

Our Ideal Candidate will possess:

  • Ability to perform manual labor.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a multi-task environment.
  • Adaptable and able to work independently.
  • Previous forklift training would be considered an asset.
  • First Aid certification would be considered an asset.

The Full Time Terminal Leader position is subject to a Monday to Friday schedule working an 8 hour shift.

NOTE: this role is in TEER 3, and has a National Occupation Classification (NOC) of 73201.
