We offer an inclusive and accessible work environment where all employees and customers feel valued, respected, and supported.Job OpportunityYou will be responsible for conducting various actuarial tasks within the Corporate Actuarial Department of ivari, including analysis of drivers of earnings, business plans, sensitivity / shock testing, FCT (financial condition testing), and experience studies. You will also assist in the development of new corporate measures, as well as the implementation of new accounting standards and capital guidelines.Your responsibilities will include:Ensuring clear and concise communication to superiors, focused on business driversProviding value-added analysis of results, focusing on earnings and capitalBecoming thoroughly familiar with actuarial valuation standards, CIA guidance material and OSFI guidelines in order to ensure accurate technical implementationBecoming thoroughly familiar with the accounting and capital frameworks (IFRS 17 and LICAT 2025)Coordinating and conducting periodic and ad hoc sensitivity testingBecoming a subject matter expert in the assigned line of business (understand pricing, valuation, capital, business drivers, drivers of earnings, etc.)Providing expertise on streamlining the valuation and capital infrastructure, especially in the context of the current frameworksImproving the model governance aspects of the Corporate Actuarial departmentProviding actuarial expertise on corporate initiatives and software/technology enhancements, fostering effective collaboration with key business partners, including Finance, IT, and ReinsuranceWhat We Are Looking ForWe are looking for a candidate with:FSA or FCIA (preferred)University degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or a related fieldMinimum of 7+ years relevant experience in the life insurance industryKnowledge of individual life and annuity productsSuperior organizational skills with the ability to develop rigorous and efficient methodologies and modelsSuperior computer skills especially in the AXIS and Risk Integrity environmentAbility to set up detailed documentation that can be easily followed by qualified personnelAbility to understand and interpret complex guidelines and program them in modelsStrong verbal and written communication skills, focusing on relevant information and being able to explain complex concepts in easily understandable terms to a wide range of audiencesKnowledge and experience with accounting and regulatory capital frameworks including IFRS 17 and LICATStrong analytical abilitiesAbility to work independently, lead initiatives and collaborate across departmentsAutonomous in your developmentWhat's In It For YouWe offer competitive base salaries plus a bonus, health and dental benefits for the entire family from Day 1, a fantastic vacation plan and time off, a pension plan with 100% match by ivari, employee savings plan with 75% match, flexible and hybrid work arrangements, opportunities for professional development, recognition programs, and wellness programs.Our Commitment to InclusivityOur commitment to inclusivity is reflected in the safeguards, policies, and commitments we have in place to remove barriers and provide equal opportunities to prospective and current employees, without discrimination.To apply, please email your resume to: .
