Finance Accounting Coordinator

Controller
Responsible for the company’s financial plans and policies, accounting practices and oversight of preparation of financial reports.
Responsibilities
Manage month end, quarter end and year end accounting processes, delivering reports in an accurate and timely manner to drive effective decisions;
Supervise and mentor accounting staff;
Review monthly contract accounting to ensure a high level of project accuracy and compliance with revenue recognition policies;
Cash management- responsible for treasury functions of the business, control oversight of bank accounts, and ensure sufficient funds available;
Lead preparation of internal and external audit fieldwork and schedules;
Review and improve internal controls and SOX compliance, partner with internal audit and corporate accounting;
Review of balance sheet and P&L reconciliation(s) to meet reporting requirements;
Review Tax claim processes to ensure timely submission, working closely with external accountants and parties;
Lead and managead-hoc projects;
Champion the enhancement of finance processes and tools, to increase efficiency and accuracy;
Develop and maintain robust financial controls to secure the company's assets and ensure financial integrity.
Qualifications
~ Bachelor’s Degree in finance/accounting;
~ CPA accounting designation;
~7+ years relevant experience;
~ Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring accounting teams;
~ Strong knowledge of Balance Sheet and Income Statement;
~ English & French Language skills proficiency (both oral and written);
~ Eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;
~ Eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada Reliability status and Secret Level 2;
~ Eligible to meet requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR);
~ Experience withOracle SmartView is considered an asset;
~ Experience working within the Aerospace and Defence industries.
