As a student at PCL, you will get the opportunity for challenging work assignments in a supportive work environment which promotes personal and professional growth. We are seeking Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical Students for our Canadian Industrial Division to work as Engineering Students in our Fabrication Facility in Nisku, AB office. We are looking for students that are available for 4 or 8 months starting in September 2024. The positions will be under the direct supervisor of a Construction Manager.

Responsibilities:
  1. Assisting with project planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, and cost control
  2. Reviewing drawings
  3. Coordinating work specific scope / trades
  4. Verifying material quantities, hours, and rates
  5. Participating in project meetings
  6. Submit requests for information
  7. Inputting / Updating deficiency logs
  8. Producing as-built drawings
  9. Performing quantity takeoffs
  10. Conduct safety inspections
  11. Communicating changes with craft personnel
  12. Setting up / Maintaining record keeping
  13. Adhoc duties as required
Qualifications:

Pursuing a degree or diploma in engineering with a mechanical or civil major. Candidates must have a strong desire to work in a construction environment and prior field construction experience will be considered an asset. Application of various computer software programs will be required, including word processing, spreadsheet applications and drafting. Able to work in a fast-paced environment. Self-motivated.

Working Conditions: Successful applicants must be able to provide their own CSA approved steel toed boots and be willing to take and pass a Pre-Access Alcohol & Drug Test. Our Fabrication Facility is not easily accessible by public transportation so the successful applicant will need access to a vehicle.
