Job Description

What makes you great for this role?

To lead the identification, development and implementation of AI models and algorithms, and ML solutions to meet business requirements. This position collaborates with cross-functional teams to understand business needs, select, and adopt leading AI technology frameworks that best meet project requirements and fit within the existing infrastructure, taking into consideration opportunities for AI/ML to scale and meet future needs. To deliver senior-level technical expertise and guidance to management and stakeholders/customers, leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies to meet program and service delivery goals and objectives.

You have:

  • Completion of a university degree in Computer Science, Engineering, AI/Data Science, or a related field
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive development and/or IT project management experience in a senior technical role. AI/ML experience considered an asset
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a team leader capacity demonstrating effective leadership skills to direct and coordinate a team of professionals in AI/ML application development
  • Experience creating and using artificial intelligence / machine learning algorithms and statistics: regression, simulation, scenario analysis, modeling, clustering, decision trees, neural networks, etc.
  • Advanced knowledge of various IT technologies; theory and principles of systems design and development; the SDLC and related AI/ML methods/techniques/standards
  • Analytical and interpretative reasoning to assess client IT needs, interpret AI blueprints, determine appropriate technical requirements, and develop AI solutions that are cost-effective and improve client program/service delivery
  • Advanced knowledge of systems (Windows, Linux), relational and non-relational database structures, cloud systems, AI/ML frameworks, security, storage, and fault management
  • Knowledge and understanding of AI ethics, data privacy, and model bias mitigation
  • Effective interpersonal, conflict resolution, team building, and client relationship management skills
  • Oral and written communication skills to liaise with clients, vendors, project team, and peers, and to prepare project reports, briefing reports, AI model documentation, and systems documentation

Nice to have:

  • Certification, or working towards certification in Agile, AI/Data Science, AI/ML frameworks
  • Understanding of AI/ML delivery cycles, product/service lifecycles, and DevOps

What you will do:

  • Consults with stakeholders on identifying artificial intelligence capabilities and business opportunities and defines AI/ML Models roadmaps and schedules
  • Develops project plans and work task breakdowns, estimating effort and costs of development, enhancement, maintenance, and support activities, and identifying resource requirements for AI/ML tasks and implementation
  • Creates and executes test strategies, including AI/ML model validation, to ensure design meets business and performance requirements, platform interoperability, and IT architectural standards
  • Collaborates with IT management and other IT team members to oversee all phases of incident, problem, and change management processes, with a focus on AI/ML components
