Job Purpose

The Rental Shop Supervisor at Vista Ridge plays a key role in overseeing all aspects of the rental shop’s day-to-day operations. They will lead a team of Rental Shop Technicians, maintain equipment inventory, and provide exceptional customer service to guests seeking rental equipment.

Reports To: Director of Operations

Primary Roles & Responsibilities

Supervision and Leadership:

· Supervise and lead a team of Rental Shop Technicians, ensuring training, consistent guest services, and smooth operations are in place.

· Train, mentor, and provide guidance to all rental shop staff, including coaching and development to seasonal staff.

· Collaborate with other departments to ensure a seamless guest experience.

· Monitor the cleanliness and organization of the rental shop, maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.

· Stay informed about industry trends, equipment innovations, and safety standards.

Equipment Maintenance and Inventory Management:

· Regularly oversee rental equipment maintenance, repairs, and inventory management, ensuring the safety and functionality of all rental gear.

· Coordinate equipment adjustments and safety checks, ensuring compliance with industry standards.

· Regularly ensure equipment meets all relevant safety requirements and is not damaged or expired.

· Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and inventory levels.

· Manage equipment ordering and supply replenishment to ensure the availability of safe equipment for guests.

Guest Assistance and Safety:

· Assist Technicians with guest-facing responsibilities such as helping guests with selecting and fitting rental equipment, offering expert guidance based on their skill level and preferences.

· Address guest inquiries and concerns related to rental equipment, delivering excellent customer service.

· Promote safety awareness and provide proper instructions to guests on equipment usage.

Required Skills

· Excellent customer service and communication skills.

· Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain accurate equipment records.

· Passion for outdoor activities and equipment.

· Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

· Knowledge of outdoor equipment, including skis, snowboards, golf clubs and related gear.

Job Requirements/Qualifications

· High school diploma or equivalent (relevant coursework in outdoor sports or equipment maintenance is a plus).

· Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with prior experience in a leadership role.Previous experience in equipment maintenance, repair, or rental shop operations is preferred.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

· Will be required to work in a fast paced environment

· Standing for extended periods of time.

· Perform moderate lifting, carrying, pulling and/or pushing (i.e. more than 10 lbs/4.5 kg but less than 50lbs/23 kg) as required.
