HVAC Team Lead

Venor is proud to partner with Iron Dog in their search for a HVAC Team Lead. Iron Dog is a locally owned full service mechanical contractor that has been providing superior mechanical systems services since 1971. Iron Dog prides themselves on rolling up their sleeves, getting their hands dirty and accomplishing the toughest jobs to help buildings in Atlantic Canada perform better.
Reporting to the VP of Operations, the HVAC Team Lead will leverage their technical HVAC expertise to oversee the operations of the HVAC team to secure contracts with new and existing customers for mechanical repairs, equipment installations, energy retrofits, and preventative maintenance in the multi-unit residential, commercial, and industrial sectors. This role will have a project management, leadership, and technical aspect to ensure high-quality service delivery to all of our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Play an important role in leading and managing the HVAC team, projects, and contracts.
- Manage customer relationships to foster strong, long-term relationships.
- Respond to inquiries by consulting with customers, completing technical assessments, and offering appropriate recommendations based on their systems and needs.
- Sell Mechanical System Maintenance Contracts to MUR Building Owners/Landlords and Commercial Property Owners/Landlords.
- Manage productivity of the HVAC team to ensure customer requirements are met on time and to the highest standard.
- Coordinate the activities of the HVAC team, schedule work, and ensure projects are completed by deadline.
- Assign appropriate staffing resources based on new and existing business needs.
- Stay updated on industry developments, new technologies, and regulations related to HVAC systems and equipment.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Post-Secondary diploma or equivalent trade related HVAC work experience.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair.
- Strong leadership skills, HVAC expertise, and communication skills to manage the team and ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Proven experience in a related position demonstrating outstanding customer service skills.
- Up-to-date knowledge of HVAC systems and industry software.
- Proficiency in estimating takeoffs and the ability to interpret and analyze blueprints.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to effectively prioritize work activities for the team, multitask, and manage time in a fast-paced environment.
