Hairstylist/Esthetician Teacher

St. Albert Public Schools is currently recruiting a Full Time, Probationary Teacher for a work assignment as a Hairstylist/Esthetician at Paul Kane High School for the upcoming 2024/25 school year.

FTE : 1.00 FTE; Full Time, Probationary Teacher

Start Date: Monday August 26, 2024

Responsibilities:

·Teaching in the Cosmetology program

·This assignment may include other subjects depending on school needs and qualifications of the successful applicant

Qualifications and Attributes:

·A valid Alberta Teaching Certificate is required

·Required Journeyman in Hairstyling

·Two to four years’ experience in the field of Hair Styling and Esthetics is preferred

·Experience working with students at the high school level is preferred

·Knowledge and certification in esthetics

·Previous experience working with students with diverse learning needs an asset

·Experiment and willingness to train students to participate in Skills Canada

·Knowledge of career pathways

·Good oral and written communication skills

·Good interpersonal skills

·The ability to take direction and work independently
