Position OverviewAre you a meticulous financial strategist with a talent for navigating complex analysis and forecasting? Do you excel in a collaborative environment where your insights drive pivotal decisions and support organizational goals?
Reporting to the Manager, Financial Planning and Control, you will manage the financial planning and analysis process for FortisBC. You will develop comprehensive financial forecasts, prepare detailed valuation models, and contribute to strategic project evaluations.
In this role, you will:- Build, maintain, and update comprehensive financial forecasts for the FortisBC group of companies, ensuring accuracy and alignment with corporate objectives.
- Prepare detailed earnings and capital forecasts to support corporate planning and regulatory filings, and perform monthly and quarterly variance analyses on key metrics.
- Develop and present valuation models to support fair value assessments, goodwill evaluations, and impairment analyses.
- Assist in the financial and strategic evaluation of projects, considering financial impact, quality, risk, resources, customer effects, and regulatory requirements.
- Support the treasury function in credit rating processes and capital structure forecasting and analysis.
- Contribute to the planning and implementation of the budgeting process, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Work closely with senior managers to develop and implement strategies aimed at achieving or exceeding earnings targets, and establish effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- You have a bachelor’s degree in business or finance, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, and a minimum of five (5) years of progressive senior accounting and financial analysis experience.
- Experience within a regulated environment is an asset.
- You are results-driven with a strong ability to problem-solve and make informed decisions.
- You possess strong leadership skills, including coaching and motivating teams.
- You have a natural ability to drive and implement change while keeping the customer experience in mind.
- You are knowledgeable in budget concepts and principles, regulatory frameworks, and business models.
In this role, you will have the option to participate in a flexible work program, enabling you to work from an approved flex location in British Columbia up to 85 days a year, subject to business needs.
