Financial Planning Manager Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Planning Manager to join our team at FortisBC. As a key member of our financial planning and analysis team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining comprehensive financial forecasts, preparing detailed earnings and capital forecasts, and performing monthly and quarterly variance analyses on key metrics.

In this role, you will work closely with senior managers to develop and implement strategies and initiatives aimed at achieving or exceeding earnings targets. You will also be responsible for establishing and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in business or finance and a minimum of five years of progressive senior accounting and financial analysis experience. Experience within a regulated environment would be an asset.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive financial forecasts for the FortisBC group of companies
  • Prepare detailed earnings and capital forecasts to support corporate planning and regulatory filings
  • Perform monthly and quarterly variance analyses on key metrics
  • Develop and present valuation models to support fair value assessments, goodwill evaluations, and impairment analyses
  • Assist in the financial and strategic evaluation of projects
  • Support the treasury function in credit rating processes and capital structure forecasting and analysis
  • Contribute to the planning and implementation of the budgeting process
