The Big Picture

The Biomedical Communications Illustrator is integral to the design and development of a wide range of marketing campaigns and promotional materials for Baylis Medical Technologies, from concept to completion. This role contributes to enhancing Baylis Medical Technologies' position as a leading developer and manufacturer of innovative cardiovascular solutions by producing compelling content that meets business needs, brand standards, and regulatory and legal requirements.

Impact Through Innovation

Creative Execution

  • Research, concept, and execute promotional materials, including advertising and digital campaigns, graphics and illustrations, animations, interactive media, trade show and experiential designs, brochures, catalogues, presentations, clinical workflows, guides, and other training and selling aids.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Management, Marketing, Clinical Education, Digital Marketing, and other internal stakeholders to develop content and creative strategies.
  • Investigate and test new technology and methods to achieve high-quality promotional material and enhance customer engagement.

Project Contribution

  • Participate in campaign/project planning, ensuring timely execution within budget and scope.
  • Support positive relationships with internal customers and stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of projects. Provide input on scope and timelines to balance resources and adapt to changing business needs.
  • Work with external vendors and agencies, ensuring their contributions meet the organization’s standards, deadlines, and budget.

Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute to the establishment and maintenance of team processes and best practices, aiming for continuous improvement, scalability, and efficiency.
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of Company X's products, services, and customer segments.

Your Unique Expertise

Required skills:

  • A master’s degree in biomedical communications or an acceptable combination of education and professional Medical Illustration/Animation experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of related professional experience.
  • Demonstrated competence in Marketing and Biomedical Communications.
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in technical and scientific writing.
  • Software experience: Adobe Creative Cloud (primarily Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects); Maxon Cinema 4D or other 3D modeling/rendering/animating software; Microsoft Office.
