An established CPA firm located in Baden is looking for a new full-time team member to join the practice. If you are a motivated individual who enjoys working largely independently, and are looking for the opportunity to advance, this role is perfect for you. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years of recent public practice experience in Canada. This managerial role will provide the opportunity to complete more challenging files independently and review the work of more junior staff.

This role has the potential to participate in the ownership of the firm and help direct the firm into the future.

Role and responsibilities:

  • Complete review and compilation engagements for a variety of industries
  • Perform audit procedures, from planning to completion of the file
  • Prepare corporate, trust and personal tax returns
  • Mentor and train staff
  • Respond to enquiries from clients and taxation authorities
  • Establish positive relationships with clients and technical support as needed
  • Prepare government filing requirements (T4’s, T5’s, HST returns, etc.)
  • Ensure the firm continues to meet professional standards
  • Identify business development opportunities with new and existing clients

Required qualifications and skills:

  • Chartered Professional Accountant designation
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Self-starter with excellent time-management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong Canadian Tax knowledge
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently and meet deadlines
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing demands and priorities
  • Familiarity with a paperless working paper environment
  • Knowledge of Caseware, TaxCycle, Quickbooks and Sage
  • Proficient in Excel and Word
  • Enjoys keeping current in all areas of technical knowledge by enrolling in professional development
  • Possess a minimum 3-5 years of public accounting experience in Canada
