Director of Marketing and Communications, GroupM Canada

We are seeking an experienced Director of Marketing and Communications to lead the development and implementation of marketing and communication strategies for GroupM, a leading media agency. Reporting into the North American Chief Marketing Officer and the Canadian Executive Director of Marketing, Strategy and Operations, the ideal candidate will have a proven track record in developing and executing successful marketing campaigns, as well as experience in leading a team of marketing and communications professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing and communication strategies that support the goals of the business and our agencies
  • Lead a team of marketing and communications professionals, providing guidance, training, and support as needed
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and clients to identify opportunities for marketing and communication initiatives
  • Manage budgets, resources, and timelines for marketing and communication projects
  • Oversee the production of marketing materials, including collateral, presentations, and digital content
  • Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of marketing and communication campaigns, making recommendations for improvement as needed
  • Stay current on industry trends and best practices, and incorporate them into marketing and communication strategies
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field
  • 8+ years of experience in marketing and communications, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team of marketing and communication professionals
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with internal stakeholders and clients (English & French)
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing campaigns
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage budgets, resources, and timelines
  • Experience with digital marketing and social media platforms
  • Knowledge of the media industry is a plus.
