Commercial Real Estate Legal Assistant

Our client is a leading international law firm who is currently looking for a Commercial Real Estate Legal Assistant to join their Calgary office. This role will provide a variety of routine legal and administrative duties in Commercial Real Estate. The ideal candidate will be an organized and eager professional who takes initiative and ownership of their work, values attention to detail and has strong communication skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to:Performing conflict searches, verifying client information, preparing retainer letters and other opening/closing file procedures;Prepare all documents necessary, from start to completion on all commercial real estate transactionsReview commercial contract of purchase and sale, easements, rights of way, and subdivisionsReview and prepare Commercial LeasesPrepare documents with respect to acquisitions and sales of various types of commercial properties, financing, and development of landPrepare documents in relation to condominium project salesObtain and review due diligence searches and completing summariesPrepare closing agendasAttend to registration of documents and security in land title offices and other government registriesLiaise with all internal and external parties involved with the transaction, including preparation of correspondencesReview and respond to correspondencesThe successful candidate must have the following education, experience and/or demonstrated skills:Legal Administrative Assistant Diploma or Certificate from an accredited institutionA minimum of 5 years previous legal assistant experience in commercial real estateSearch experience is considered an assetProficiency with Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) with emphasis on styles and formatting;Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and solve problems in a fast paced environmentComfortable in an environment of continuous learning with on-going formal and self-learning opportunitiesSolution-oriented with sound judgment to make informed decisionsExcellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to use discretion when dealing with confidential informationSolid organization and time management skillsStrong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality workProfessional, responsive, friendly, and able to build productive relationshipsIf this sounds like the role you have been looking for, then we want to see your Resume Resumes can be sent in confidence to Shona Tischner at shona@urbanlegal.ca At Urban Legal Recruitment we guarantee discretion and confidentiality.
