Job Description

The Senior Financial Analyst will report into the Senior Manager, Finance Business Partner-Central and will be responsible for supporting our team by anticipating the needs of the business and providing strategies to support decision making.

Responsibilities:
  • Analysis
    • Provide finance support for Central Canada as well as various national processes/initiatives
    • Provide financial expertise and analysis to support business decisions
    • Track performance against budget, prior year and forecast
    • Identify variances to actual results
    • Understand cost drivers, support problem solving and develop recommendations
    • Generate analytics on performance, identifying problems, and initiating process improvement
    • Provide financial and business-related analysis to assess the impact of various projects
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Reporting
    • Provide monthly reporting to each area of the business supported
    • Assist in the preparation of materials for monthly Executive presentations, Canada Post and Audit Committee presentations
    • Track and report on KPI’s providing insight on change
    • Leverage previous experience and learning to optimize current reporting, daily tasks, etc.
    • Other Ad-hoc financial / business reporting as required
  • Planning
    • Prepare, co-ordinate and facilitate the annual operating budgets for designated divisions and national initiatives
    • Co-ordinate with operations management to quantify the impact of operational initiatives and changes versus prior year
  • Supporting the Business
    • Create, maintain and generate forecasts and various models
    • Support the development, implementation and reporting of internal processes and controls
    • Provide data to assist management to develop action plans to improve profitability
    • Generates capital request forms, and supports business case creation
Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of experience in a relevant financial role
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Possess strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate clearly with a variety of audiences
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a high paced work environment
  • Must be proactive with the ability to work well independently or as part of a cross functional team
  • University or College degree in Accounting / Finance / Business
  • CPA designation or enrollment in CPA Certification Program considered an asset
  • Experience in logistics considered an asset
  • 10-15% Travel to terminals in Ontario will be required
