Who are we looking for?

Our client is seeking an Interest Rate and FX Hedging Specialist to join the Credit and Market Division of the Financial Risk Management Department.

The Interest Rate and FX Hedging Specialist is responsible for analysis, monitoring, and hedging of these market risks within the group. Additionally, experience with commodity risk hedging will be preferred.

The successful candidate will assess market risk exposures, perform quantitative and qualitative analysis on positions and risks of the respective portfolios, and report the findings to risk management and to key areas of the Company.

The specialist will interface with various internal departments, including compliance, finance, operations, and the trading desk, and also with other subsidiaries and joint ventures of the group.

Minimum Requirements

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field. An MBA or other advanced business degree is preferred.
  2. Professional certification such as CFA, FRM, or PRM.
  3. +10 years of experience in financial markets risk management in a corporate or bank environment.
  4. Experience with the development, implementation, application, and oversight of financial markets risk models, hedging alternatives, pricing and hedge execution strategies.
  5. Experience and knowledge of trading concepts, derivative instruments, ISDA agreements, hedge accounting, and operations.
  6. Proficiency with Excel.
  7. Ability to coach junior analysts in developing their analytical skills and reporting capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Analyze and quantify interest rate, FX and commodity risk exposure of the group and propose hedging strategies to mitigate such risks.
  2. Understand and report on market risk dynamics of the specific portfolio, key drivers impacting prices, volatility and values and their prospective impact on the risks and earnings of the portfolio.
  3. Ensure that volatilities, market prices, forward curves, correlations, and other key valuation components are accurately and consistently defined and updated.
  4. Assist in the setup, configuration and implementation of hedging of market risks and related risk analytic systems.
  5. Ensure that new business transactions and related risks are appropriately defined and captured by the Company’s risk systems and risk methodologies.
  6. Analyze risks/return related to new business and markets and liaise with the business functions to assure constituent market risks are understood, are appropriate to risk appetite, correctly reported and where appropriate, hedged.
  7. Monitor positions against market risk metrics and limits and liaise with the business functions and risk control regarding potential limit exceedance.
  8. Perform stress testing on various portfolios in order to identify and mitigate unwanted exposure.
  9. Review policies and procedures and align risk policies across the Group.

Job Benefits

  1. Monthly Base Salary – aligned with company employees with similar skills.
  2. Monthly Overbase – 25% of your monthly base salary.
  3. Benefits Supplement – 20% of your monthly base salary, after 3 years of service, reward increases to 25% of base, after 6 years 30% of base, and after 12 years 35% of base.
  4. Severance Package (2-year vest period) – year 2 to 5: 2 week's pay for each year of service, Year 6+: 4 week's pay for each year after.
  5. Employment Tax – if employee chooses to separate themselves from their ‘home country’ for income tax purposes, most will not be required to pay ‘home country’ income taxes; company will not report income to the ‘home country’ governments. Please check with your tax advisor for specifics relating to you.
  6. Employee Share Purchase Plan (ESPP) (eligible after 12 months of service) – maximum purchase equal to 10% monthly base pay with a cap, 20% share discount.
  7. Incentive Plan – annual; based on performance, approx. 1.8x monthly base salary.
  8. Travel Allowance – annual; approx. $8,200 per household member 11+ years old residing in Saudi Arabia and $6,000 per household member under 11 years old.
  9. Vacation & Paid Holidays – 38 vacation days / 4 travel days / 11-13 paid holidays.
  10. Medical/Dental Plan – complimentary in-Kingdom Johns Hopkins medical care/facilities for employee and eligible family members. In-Kingdom dental services subsidized.
  11. Educational Assistance Plan (EAP) – Out of Kingdom Assistance: 90% of expenses with a maximum per child, lesser of 5x monthly base salary or the company max ($48.5K), plus 3 round-trip economy air travel tickets; undergraduate college-age children get 2 round-trip economy air travel tickets; In Kingdom Assistance: 2x monthly base salary or the company max ($16.3K).
  12. Settling in Allowance – one-time payment; Family Status - 100% of monthly base salary; Single/Bachelor Status – 60% of monthly base salary.
