Summit Water (summitwater.ca) is a leading provider of innovative water solutions, committed to delivering high-quality products and services to enhance the lives of our customers. We are organized in three business divisions. Interpump which is a distributor of pumps and related equipment, Net Zero Water which manufactures commercial water re-use systems and Pinnacle Water Treatment which designs and assembles residential and commercial water treatment systems. We also have two distribution and manufacturing locations including our new head office in Cambridge, ON.
ABOUT THE POSITION
As an Applications Engineer in our Engineered Pumps team, you will play a key role in our growth in the municipal, industrial, and commercial markets. You will listen to our customers’ needs and apply your knowledge, engineering skills, and resourcefulness to develop the optimal pump equipment and system solutions. The job is challenging but rewarding, with constant opportunities to learn and to use new products and knowledge in fluid dynamics, hydraulic principles, and control systems. You will collaborate with industry experts in pumps, the second most common machine in the world after electric motors.
The ideal candidate will be an eager and involved learner with aptitude for applying knowledge and products to new applications. We are looking for a reliable, enthusiastic, self-motivated and personable individual with a strong work ethic.
You will be primarily working in our new northwest Cambridge facility.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Technical Support: Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support to customers, assisting them in selecting the most suitable pump solutions for their applications.
- Product Knowledge: Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of Summit Water’s product line, staying updated on the latest technological advancements in pumping systems.
- Application Analysis: Collaborate with sales teams to analyze customer requirements and applications, offering customized solutions that meet or exceed expectations.
- Training: Conduct training sessions for internal teams and external customers on Summit Water’s product offerings, applications, and best practices.
- Documentation: Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including product specifications, application guides, and troubleshooting manuals.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and vendors, to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- We are willing to provide full training and support to the right applicant.
- Proven experience in technical support or application engineering, preferably in the pump industry.
- Strong understanding of fluid dynamics and various types of pumping systems and related applications.
- Excellent communication, organization and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Problem-solving skills with a customer-centric approach.
