In this role, you will be a part of the Transportation  team, based in Ontario  and have the opportunity to work on the various projects .

What a day at EXP has in store for you

Prepare preliminary design reports (PDR), design criteria, preliminary and detailed designs associated with new and/or the rehabilitation of divided highways, arterial regional roads, collector roads, and local roads; Prepare preliminary designs for CADD staff and review drawings for compliance with applicable industry and client standards; Prepare Contract Specifications, Tender Documents, and Applications for Agency Approvals; Review and issue finalized Shop Drawings; Coordinate and mentor junior staff working within the division; Liaise with Clients, Sub-consultants, Contractors and construction supervision staff; Assist with the preparation of Proposals for future projects.

What your experience looks like

Professional Engineer ( licensed in Ontario with PEO with 10+ years, preferably from a consulting engineering office environment in Ontario. Experience on P3, Design-Build and Infrastructure Ontario-Metrolinx projects would be an asset; Approved in MTO-RAQS under the Highway Engineering-Detailed Design Category for Detailed Design - Multilane Arterial & Expressway; Emphasis and proficiency with Microstation, OpenRoads, AutoCAD, Civil 3D. Experience with earlier versions of Microstation and InRoads will be considered; Strong computer software skills with ProjectWise, Word, Excel & MS Project; Highly proficient in the use of MTO’s software applications CPS and HiCo; Comprehensive knowledge with MTO and Metrolinx standards, including various Municipal & Regional design and drafting standards; Skilled in cost estimating, quantity preparation and specification writing; Have a track record of gaining approval of infrastructure designs from MTO, roads authorities and environmental agencies; Independent, Organized and Motivated Team player with excellent oral and written communication skills; and Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and deliver projects under stringent schedules in a fast-paced turnaround environment.
