WHAT YOU WILL DO

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Software Development Manager to lead the Red Giant team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of software developers and QA Specialists. They will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality delivery of products on the Red Giant roadmap, meeting the needs of our diverse user base.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of software developers and QA professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  2. Product Roadmap Execution: Work closely with product management and other stakeholders to define and prioritize features and enhancements on the Red Giant product roadmap.
  3. Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of software development projects, ensuring adherence to deadlines and quality standards.
  4. Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain robust QA processes and procedures to ensure the reliability, performance, and usability of Red Giant products.
  5. Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and support to team members, assisting with problem-solving, code reviews, and architectural decisions.
  6. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other teams within Maxon, including design, marketing, and customer support, to ensure alignment and synergy across all aspects of product development and delivery.
  7. Performance Management: Conduct regular performance evaluations, set goals, and provide feedback and coaching to team members to support their professional growth and development.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
  1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  2. Proven experience in software development, with a focus on leading teams and delivering high-quality products.
  3. Strong technical skills in software development methodologies, programming languages (e.g., C++, Python), and development tools (e.g., Git, JIRA).
  4. Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  5. Experience in the VFX, motion graphics, or multimedia software industry is highly desirable.
  6. Familiarity with Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, and other industry-standard applications is a plus.
  7. Very good communications and English language skills.
