VICE PRESIDENT, FINANCE

RJC has a permanent position for a Vice President, Finance reporting to RJC’s Executive Principal in charge of Corporate Services. This role will lead and manage the overall provision of financial and accounting services of RJC, a current team of 10 and will ensure consistent practices amongst the company’s programs / functions as well as provide high-level support at the Executive team to make strategic decisions on behalf of the company and shareholders.

The primary function of the Vice President, Finance is to:

· Take a leadership role and accountability for overseeing the finance and accounting functions within the Corporate Services portfolio.

· Help fulfil the high-level strategic vision, governance, and structure of the firm

· Ensure sound operational systems and processes, with well-defined controls and oversight, which drive results and achieve RJC’s desired outcomes.

· Helps to improve the financial knowledge of senior leaders individually and the organization collectively.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE ROLE INCLUDE

· Direct and oversee all aspects of the finance and accounting functions and provide leadership in the development and continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic objectives.

· Provide advice and guidance on the financial implications of business activities to tactically and strategically enhance both performance and business opportunities.

· Provide finance support to the organization in terms of potential future investments and M&A activity.

· Manage the processes of financial forecasting, analysis, budgets, consolidation, and reporting.

· Implement tools and strategies to translate raw data into valuable business insights by taking a hands-on lead position of developing, implementing, enhancing and maintaining a comprehensive reporting system.

· Identify key drivers of performance and risk and opportunity assessments

· Manage the production of the consolidated key KPI’s metrics

· Provide financial leadership in cash flow, risk management and taxation.

· Liaises with outside organizations and officials – banks, government, auditors, and lawyers to prepare required working paper files (e.g. audit), discuss the financial affairs related to the organization, and recommend various courses of action.

· Be the subject matter expert and manage RJC’s Corporate Shareholder program.

· Assist with executing on corporate structuring, consolidation, integration and reorganization as well as leading specific function consolidation and centralization.

· Build and developing high functioning teams and team members in order to ensure business continuity, succession and redundancy in key positions.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES AND ATTRIBUTES:

OVERVIEW

The ideal candidate will have experience as a senior, progressive financial professional who has developed strong overall commercial acumen by managing effectively as a strong finance leader. The preferred candidate will have gained deep experience leading the finance function for privately held companies.

This candidate will bring a broad range of experiences, with particular depth as it relates to building out a best in class finance organization and strategic decision support. As one of three Corporate Services strategic partners to the Executive team, the ideal candidate will have superior communication skills and be able to engage diverse audiences. A committed people leader, the Vice President, Finance will be an entrepreneurial, positive presence, motivating the team, and adding value to the organizational culture.

EXPERIENCE

· Significant (10-15+ years) proven financial analysis and accounting experience. Ideally, you have experience in the AEC industry or professional services firm.

· Minimum 3 years in a Vice President, Finance role or the equivalent in the market

· Solid applied understanding of general financial analysis concepts such as margin analysis, ROIC, project evaluation and work in progress

· Strong technical, analytical and systems skills; advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office as well as financial modeling, and reporting

· Exceptional organizational skills and ability to prioritize and handle multiple simultaneous assignments

· Ability to apply broad business perspectives and experiences to identify opportunities/risks

· Demonstrated experience in restructuring, reorganizing, centralizing functions and/or organizations.

· Proven success in leading information technology function, preferably through transformative periods.

· Able to deal with large complex issues and has a high level of personal resilience.

· Experience engaging at / within a senior management team for a large / national organization

EDUCATION

· Preference for legacy CPA, CA or US CPA, but also open to CMA and CGA

· Undergraduate degree in finance, business, economics or other related.
