About this position

The Field Supervisor is responsible for on-site project management, executing the project scope, maintaining the project schedule, and supporting budget management. This role involves pre-mobilization planning of crews, equipment, and site visits. The key responsibilities include:

  1. Supervising work crews and third-party service providers to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency goals are met.
  2. Liaising with Operations Managers and Project Managers to ensure projects are on schedule and resourced appropriately at the field level.
  3. Establishing and maintaining strong client relations at the site level through client communications, progress reporting, and change order management.
  4. Optimizing installation schedules by ensuring continuity and minimizing downtime between projects.
  5. Maintaining and repairing installation equipment to meet schedules.
  6. Maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.
Key Accountabilities

The Field Supervisor:

  • Provides leadership to construction teams.
  • Acts as a mentor and provides support to all members of the installation team for their growth and development.
  • Champions safety and quality programs.
  • Provides feedback to Construction Managers, Project Managers, and clients to address performance issues and conduct performance reviews.
  • Works with Scheduler, Project Manager, and client to facilitate on-site scheduling.
  • Maintains contact with Project Manager and Shipping for material deliveries and provides daily reporting to clients and project management.
  • Ensures supervision of contract employees and assists in travel and accommodation arrangements for install crews.
  • Advises the sales team on project installation cost estimates and works with the Scheduler to fill gaps in the installation schedule.
  • Effectively manages resources to minimize downtime and company costs.
  • Supervises and manages third-party service activity.
  • Solicits ideas from install crew members for cost-saving measures and evaluates each installation project to minimize variable costs.
  • Proactively liaises with clients to secure additional work.
  • Encourages good housekeeping habits to prevent injuries and property damage.
Education / Experience

Required:

  • 3-5 years of experience in operations within the construction industry.
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience, preferably in construction.
  • Knowledge of helical pile industry, related tools, and basic mechanical experience.
  • Performance and communication training or experience.

Assets:

  • Team building and leadership training or experience.
