Role Overview:
As part of the Instrument and Electrical Engineering Team, the Electrical Engineer role directly supports plant reliability functions for all facilities in Manufacturing West. The primary objective of the role is to deliver equipment reliability for leading performance in plant uptime, quality, and maintenance. This will include reliability program development, technical support, and the application of Manufacturing & Corporate Reliability Standards, Procedures, and Best Practices.

You Will Use Your Expertise To:
  1. Provide technical support to Production Unit Team and Maintenance for critical issues, including equipment outages, capacity limitations, technology application, equipment specification & changes, troubleshooting, and mentorship.
  2. Highlight and optimize maintenance, operational, and engineering practices to improve reliability.
  3. Follow-up on equipment failures, determine root causes, and identify actions to prevent reoccurrence.
  4. Provide project design and management for Electrical Facility Change Management projects.
  5. Apply "reliability-in-design" focus to the capital project process including project justification, technical direction/specification, spare parts assessments, and auditing of project reliability deliverables.
  6. Work with Maintenance, Operations, and Plant Engineering to establish and resolve approaches to reliability priorities.
  7. Review and provide input to unit outages and major turnaround scope.
  8. Ensure the Computerized Maintenance Management System is in alignment with equipment strategies and templates.
  9. Apply/sustain/improve NOVA Standards.
  10. Review new equipment designs to ensure maintenance and reliability issues are considered and addressed.
  11. Develop requirements for new and repaired equipment.
  12. Benchmark internally and externally to identify and share best practices.
  13. Optimize equipment spare parts and predictive/preventative maintenance practices to ensure required reliability at the lowest cost.

What We Are Looking For:
  1. Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of related engineering experience.
  2. Must hold, or be eligible to obtain, a Professional Engineering License (P.Eng.) with the Professional Engineers of Alberta (APEGA) or equivalent Canadian engineering governing body.
  3. Demonstrated commitment to Responsible Care.
  4. Ability to work with limited supervision while managing multiple projects and tasks in a dynamic work environment with Operations, Maintenance, Project Management, and Technical teams.
  5. Demonstrated troubleshooting skills.
  6. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral) with the ability to present and explain information using a variety of formal presentation tools and techniques.

Additional Information:
  1. Relocation will be considered for this position.
  2. Compensation will be commensurate with education and experience.
  3. This role requires up to 10% travel.
  4. The successful candidate is required to provide proof of a valid driver's license.
