Underwriting Assistant, Commercial Lines

JOB DESCRIPTION Reporting to the Commercial Lines Supervisor – Ontario, the Underwriting Assistant is responsible for assisting the Commercial Lines Underwriters with the development and successful execution of broker and territory-level business plans for our Ontario brokers in accordance with the regional commercial business plan for profitability, growth, retention, and service standards. REQUIREMENTSThe successful candidate must work in the North Bay office 5 days a week.Duties as assigned but main responsibilities include data entry to issue commercial lines policy documents, setting up and monitoring abeyances, ordering inspections, maintaining internal logs, and if required covering reception on an as-needed basis.To meet the requirements of this position, the candidate must have a post-secondary school education or comparable previous office experience. The candidate should be recognized for their good communication skills (verbal and written), efficient and accurate keyboarding, as well as their strong attention to detail. They must be a team player with a positive attitude. Prior experience completing data entry is an asset.
