Maintenance Technician (Millwright) details:

  • Hourly rate: $40.00
  • Benefits from day 1*

3 Weeks holidays

3% RRSP match*

Day shift, Monday to Friday 6:30am - 3:00pm (Flexibility Required, Overtime as Needed)

Maintenance Technician (Millwright) Qualifications

  • A valid Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) License 433A is a must.
  • At least 3 years of working experience as a licensed millwright is required.
  • Previous experience in the food industry is required
  • Awareness of all safety and food safety standards and maintenance requirements is necessary.
  • Strong work ethic and a demonstrated sense of urgency are essential.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills are a must.
  • Ability to work well in an unsupervised environment and as part of a team is required.
  • Proven troubleshooting ability with an emphasis on safety and reliability is necessary.
  • Capability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds is required.

Maintenance Technician (Millwright) Responsibilities

  • Providing mechanical expertise and supporting the facility in mechanical installation and maintenance of plant equipment and production assets.
  • Troubleshooting mechanical and electrical failures, identifying the root cause and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Performing routine Preventative Maintenance and work order tasks as requested.
  • Identifying high-risk downtime areas in a fast-paced production environment and working together to minimize the risks.
  • Completing maintenance reports and logs as required in supporting effective maintenance systems.
  • Maintaining good housekeeping practices in work areas.
  • Liaising with other departments within the facility, ensuring effective communication.
  • Working effectively in a processing environment without jeopardizing food safety.
  • Adhering to all safety & quality policies and procedures.
  • Working in the Maintenance team with the Team Lead and other team members while reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor.
