THE OPPORTUNITY
Our client is a dynamic industrial manufacturing business based in Mississauga, renowned for its strong company culture, commitment to quality, and exceptional customer service. They are currently seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to join their team, aiming to elevate departmental efficiency and strengthen relationships with both internal stakeholders and external vendors.
THE ROLE
The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for providing direction and oversight for the efficient movement of raw and finished materials through various stages of the supply chain process. This role demands strong ERP management and inventory management skills to ensure efficient and effective operation of the business. The Supply Chain Manager will play a key role in vendor management, raw material management, and overall supply chain management, contributing to the company's continued success.
In this role, the Supply Chain Manager will work closely with vendors to ensure the timely delivery of goods and maintain regular contact with suppliers to align lead times and quantities with production requirements. Developing and implementing vendor management processes to improve performance and corrective actions will be a critical part of your responsibilities. The SCM also manages vendor contracts and performs routine assessments to ensure vendor relationships are strong and effective.
Optimizing ERP functionality for effective supply chain activities and developing processes to avoid schedule interruptions and inefficiencies are vital to the success and reliability of the business and this department. The Supply Chain Manager will determine inventory levels for purchased materials, driving towards a Just-In-Time (JIT) inventory management system. Analyzing supply chain risks and initiating mitigation steps, as well as collaborating with senior leadership on material cost reduction projects, will also be key aspects of this role.
The Supply Chain Manager will be tasked with ensuring accurate and up-to-date pricing for raw materials, providing weekly analyses for material costing. Communicating raw material price changes to the Finance department and senior leadership, while maintaining accurate records for cost roll-up activities will be essential tasks. The SCM will ensure the availability of raw materials for production and engage with production to maintain effective and accurate inventory levels.
THE PROFESSIONAL
We are currently seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager for this position (7+ years), with post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Planning, or Inventory Control (or similar), combined with a proven track record of experience and accomplishment. Exceptional organizational skills and high attention to detail are crucial, along with strong technical skills, particularly in ERP and inventory management.
The ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently as a self-starter capable of building and improving processes is essential. Experience in vendor management and relationship building, as well as a proactive approach to issue management, is highly valued.
