Job Description

AECOM Edmonton is looking for an Transportation Design Engineer/ Project Manager to add to its growing team.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Design integrated municipal roadway, provincial highway, and active transportation facilities projects for the City of Edmonton, Alberta Transportation as well as other local municipalities;

Assist in the preparation of designs, design drawings, contract documents, engineering specifications and cost estimates for municipal road and highway engineering work;

Assist with business development activities and conduct/attend client meetings

Prepare correspondence, engineering reports, proposals, specifications and meeting minutes;

Ability to collaborate with a team of professionals, as well as liaise with clients and sub-consultants

The preparation designs using computer design tools (e.g. CAD, transportation software);

Performs a wide-range of additional duties intended to support your growth and development within a transportation engineering environment;

Provide Quality Management reviews by ensuring corporate policies are followed and documented.

Qualifications

Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering + minimum 4 years experience in transportation design of roads and highways

P. Eng. Designation in Alberta, or eligible

Driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

7+ years of experience in the transportation design engineering field is preferred

Knowledge of applicable design standards including those published by TAC, Alberta Transportation, and City of Edmonton;

Experience with roadway geometric design software such as InRoads/OpenRoads MicroStation and/or Civil 3D/Autocad, Torus, Guidesign, and Autoturn;

Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in English, documentation and proposal writing skills;

Experience with City of Edmonton and/or Alberta Transportation as a project manager and design engineer will be considered an asset;

Knowledge of City of Edmonton and Alberta Transportation Standards for Tender Documents for Unit Price Contracts

Experience in construction contract administration will be considered an asset

Ability to work in both the in-person and virtual environment

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $77,000 to $130,000.
