Our client, a major Oil and Gas company, is looking for someone to join their team on a 1-year contract in Calgary.The SCM Category Specialist will be responsible for sustaining a fit-for-purpose Category Management plan across their assigned Indirect Portfolio. The overall Indirect Category includes IT, HR, and other Corporate spending.Accountability for contributing to the Value Creation program, driving cost reduction / avoidance and operational efficiency / effectiveness that is impactful to the P&LOwnership of all Master Service Agreements and Corporate Contracts in their assigned portfolioStrategic Sourcing for our Projects & Operations teams, in collaboration with the Projects SCM and the Operations SCM teamsSupport in executing and organizing processes and activities in accordance with the company's SCM Policy and StandardsRequirements:Related post-secondary education an assetA minimum of 5-8 years of Supply Chain Management contracts experienceExperience managing a corporate IT category would be an assetDemonstrated ability to drive supplier value creation through category management and strong post-award contract managementExperience utilizing Maximo contract software would be an assetCollaborative mindset, willing to work alongside the subject-matter experts and Business Unit clients to drive sustainable change in our supply baseThe candidate will have a successful track record of effectively progressing category management ideas through to implementationSuccess in this role goes well beyond technical expertise; understanding how to build consensus across the organization and manage stakeholder relations, all while inspiring and driving changeThe right candidate will be a relationship builder; able to navigate the organization and rally the appropriate corporate resources behind critical business initiativesThe candidate will demonstrate a commitment and passion for Supply Chain and the value it can drive in the energy sector
