We are looking for Senior and Principal grade Geo Environmental engineers who:

Strong general technical skills are a must, with a technical specialty highly desirable. Those with experience of:

  1. Authoring and reviewing factual and interpretive geotechnical reports.
  2. Holding a degree in Environmental Science or Engineering Geology.

Our Geo team undertakes a diverse range of projects across various sectors, delivering geo-environmental consultancy services backed up by in-house ground investigation services. The successful candidate will become a member of this busy team, delivering focused solutions for our growing key client base, with emphasis on technical excellence, client care, and effective project management.

Key attributes required for the position are:

  1. Sound technical knowledge

  4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills

We anticipate the role will require approximately 50% of your time to be site-based and 50% to be office-based, but this may vary as workload dictates. You will hold a degree in:

  1. Geology
  2. Engineering geology
  3. Hydrogeology or relevant environmental science discipline

While not essential, it would be beneficial for you to have a postgraduate qualification such as a Master’s degree. You should also be working towards Chartership with a relevant body, such as CIWEM, IEMA, or Geo Soc. You will have postgraduate industry experience and an understanding of current contaminated land technical guidance and the development planning regime.

You must have experience of, and be confident in, planning, managing, and supervising ground investigation on-site, including groundwater and ground gas monitoring and have the skills and knowledge to interpret data. Any specific site works accreditations/qualifications held will be an advantage (e.g., SMSTS, SSSTS, CSCS, etc.).

You will be knowledgeable in current practice and governing standards/guidance for the investigation and remediation of contaminated land and must be able to produce:

  1. Phase 1 geo-environmental desktop study reports incorporating preliminary risk assessment
  2. Phase 2 interpretative reports including qualitative and quantitative risk assessments

You must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be fully IT literate, as you will be required to write clear, concise, and technically robust reports. A good understanding of health, safety, and environmental management is also necessary.

  1. A full, preferably clean, driving license.
  2. Be a team player with strong social, interpersonal, and communication skills.
