Who we need

Reporting to the VP of Finance, we have a newly created opportunity for a Procurement Manager. In this role, you will oversee the entire procurement process, focusing on securing services that deliver the best value. You will develop and implement procurement strategies, manage supplier relationships, optimize supply chain operations, and ensure compliance with company policies. Additionally, you will lead and mentor the Procurement Coordinator, collaborating with various departments to ensure procurement strategies align with overall organizational objectives.

This is a hybrid opportunity working remotely and on-site at our downtown location.

Who you are

You bring procurement or supply chain experience, along with a strong understanding of best practices and technology. Strategic and financially astute, you excel at building influential relationships. You are eager to collaborate cross-functionally to implement and optimize systems that deliver value.

As our new Procurement Manager, you will:

  • Own and introduce. You will develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives. You will introduce best practice techniques in P2P processes, such as benchmarking and dual sourcing.
  • Manage external relationships. You will build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, vendors, and contractors. You will respond to requests for proposals, quotations, evaluations, negotiations, and award of purchase orders and agreements.
  • Initiate continuous improvement. You will implement systems, processes, and policies that optimize procurement. You will review existing contracts with suppliers, vendors, and contractors to identify opportunities for vendor base consolidation, standardization, cost savings, and other improvements.
  • Verify. You will conduct risk assessments to identify potential supply chain disruptions and develop mitigation strategies. You will ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and legal regulations.
  • Collaborate. You will mentor the Procurement Coordinator and work closely with cross-functional teams to understand their needs and provide guidance on sourcing and purchasing processes.

You have:

  • The experience. You have extensive experience in Procurement or Supply chain, including strategic sourcing, supplier management, procurement negotiations, cost management, policy making, and contract management.
  • The technical skills. You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills. You are highly proficient with procurement software and MS Office; exposure to D365 is an asset.
  • The drive. You have a roll-up-your-sleeves approach and energetic get-it-done style. You thrive in a collaborative environment while working independently.
  • The interpersonal skills. You have professional communication skills and the confidence to lead contract negotiations. You can build trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
