Ottawa, Canada Canadian Medical Protective Association Full time

ENTERPRISE RISK & STRATEGY ANALYST

CONTRIBUTING TO THE CMPA

Working closely with all CMPA departments, the Strategy & Program Management (SPM) department leads nimble and adaptable enterprise management processes. The core functions include strategic planning and strategic issues analysis, annual planning and performance management, enterprise risk management, and program management. Market intelligence and research and evaluation influence each of these activities.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Manager, Strategic Foresight, the Enterprise Risk & Strategy Analyst is responsible for analyzing a wide range of issues and initiatives of strategic importance to CMPA, using data and intelligence derived from a combination of internal and external sources. The incumbent uses the insight gained through this activity to prepare briefing notes, reports, presentations, and other materials that help to ensure both management and Council have the information needed to make informed business decisions.

The Enterprise Risk & Strategy Analyst takes a lead role in the execution of the Association’s enterprise risk management (ERM) program. This requires working with others across the Association, including management, to identify and analyze opportunities and threats that could impact the achievement of the Association’s strategic objectives and to align and integrate ERM activities with strategic and annual planning, performance measurement, and corporate reporting. The incumbent is also responsible for monitoring and identifying ERM improvement opportunities, and providing advice, recommendations, and other input, based on the feedback received from internal stakeholders and by maintaining current knowledge of industry best practice.

Given the corporate nature of this role, the incumbent establishes and maintains working relationships across CMPA to ensure a collaborative and effective approach to team and departmental deliverables. The Enterprise Risk & Strategy Analyst works closely with analysts and other staff outside the department to obtain data and information and to participate in corporate and cross-departmental projects and working groups.

Market Intelligence and Environmental Assessment
