What is the opportunity:

Reporting to the Manager, the Audit System Specialist, provides active support and lead development of the systems that support the work of the SA&C program. The Specialist is sufficiently proficient with the IT systems that support the SA&C program to address basic issues arising and serve as a liaison with IT support to identify and address more complex issues as well as lead any efforts to explore new systems or application of technology to the audit process. The Specialist would also develop and support structured and ad hoc reporting and analytics as required for the SA&C program. The Specialist will also be expected to participate in quality assurance of COR audits. The Specialist is capable of providing expert advice on questions related to the COR program for both auditors and employers including engaging with provincial COR program governing bodies to resolve issues.

What will you do:
  • Work with ESC business analysts, project managers, and IT specialists to ensure new and ongoing development of systems that support SA&C functions meet existing and arising needs for the COR program administration and auditing functions.
  • Support existing SA&C administrative and auditing systems through training, one on one support, and trouble shooting issues arising for system users (SA&C staff, auditors, and employers)
  • Review audits, including Certification Audits to ensure they meet government requirements and perform quality assurance checks
  • Develop and support structured and ad hoc reporting and data analytics for SA&C functions, including the development or deployment of new data or AI tools applied to untapped SA&C-based data sources
  • Other duties as required
What you need to succeed:
  • Post-secondary education in either Business Management, Health and Safety Management, Information Technology, or related fields, with Business Analyst or Project Management certification preferred.
  • Experience supporting a business unit or business function with systems, processes, and/or reporting/analytics functions
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications such as MS-Teams (and its business/productivity apps), SharePoint, and/or PowerBI, as well as experience with other business or analytics applications
  • Work experience in health and safety or HS related field and/or professional designation in safety (e.g., CRST, working towards a CRSP or CSP) is considered an asset
  • COR auditor, ISO or other international audit certification is considered an asset
